This is a mold I made that I’m absolutely thrilled with. It was the second successful mold I’ve made so far and I’ve used it around 12-16 times and so far, it’s so good, and I’ve had a lot of success with it. The next run will be even better because know I actually know what I’m doing.
It gives you rounded dice with a bold, textured face for the numbers to be vibrantly coloured, with some texture to the numbers, too. You can colour them in a dark, bold colour, mix colours, or even go for a more subdued, translucent or light shade too.
My test piece doesn’t work with UV resin, but then, making dice with UV resin is a challenge on it’s own. From now on out, my molds will be suitable with all resin. It’s firm, easy to demold, with a heavy top and it stops from bubbles and voids accumulating when you put the lid on.
All molds are simply made with mold housing, transfer tape and some keys/registers I cast before making. They aren’t the best looking, but they work! I’m still improving my technique and I’ll keep you updated as I continue on.
Enjoy my pictures.
